This digital artwork was created using Houdini and Maya, rendered and assembled in Unreal Engine, and composited in Nuke. Inspired by the early twentieth-century Swedish illustrator John Bauer, the work draws upon Nordic folklore, enchanted forests, trolls, and the mysterious relationship between humanity and the natural world.
Through contemporary 3D animation and visual-effects techniques, I reinterpret the atmosphere of traditional Nordic storytelling. The work explores wonder, isolation, memory, and the boundary between the familiar and the supernatural. Like Bauer’s illustrations, the environment is not simply a background; it becomes an active psychological space in which beauty, danger, humor, and mystery coexist.
