Manatee Conservation Awareness Animation
This animated work was created in Autodesk Maya as part of a public-awareness initiative focused on manatee conservation, environmental education, and fundraising. The project was developed for use by a conservation organization as part of its outreach campaign, helping communicate the importance of protecting manatees and supporting preservation efforts.
The animation combines digital modeling, character animation, lighting, rendering, and visual storytelling to create an accessible message for a broad public audience. The project demonstrates how animation can function beyond entertainment by serving as a tool for environmental communication, nonprofit outreach, and community engagement.
The completed work was used within the organization’s campaign and has also been presented at several film festivals and preservation-focused events, extending its educational reach beyond the original campaign.
This project also reflects my broader commitment to service-oriented creative practice. In addition to producing media related to animal welfare and conservation, I have volunteered with organizations supporting animals and environmental causes. These experiences inform my interest in using digital media and animation as forms of advocacy, education, and public service.
From an academic perspective, the project explores the intersection of animation, environmental communication, social impact, and community-engaged creative research, demonstrating how digital production methods can be applied to real-world conservation initiatives.
